SoCal Dirt Broker

SoCal Dirt Broker is a dirt and materials hauling and brokerage business in Southern California. They came to North Shore Labs running on word of mouth, wanting to own search for the terms contractors actually type — the exact searches a builder makes when they need dirt hauled, imported, or exported. We built a strategy to put a page in front of every one of those searches.

We built SoCal Dirt Broker a custom site with a programmatic SEO system underneath it. Instead of a handful of pages, the site generates a page for every service in every city it serves — over 500 pages across Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties. Each page is written from real data about that city: the terrain, the highways and routes, the soil, the construction activity. They aren't spun copies of one template — the content changes to match the place, so each page actually answers the search behind it.

We wired the whole thing for search: structured data on every page so Google understands the business, an automatically generated sitemap covering all of it, internal links between related services and nearby cities, and 301 redirects that carry over the search equity from their old URLs. We also set up analytics and a tracking phone number so they can see the traffic and the calls coming in.

Because dirt jobs get quoted by conversation, we kept the path to contact simple and direct: click-to-call and click-to-text on every page, a Google Maps location with directions, and a free materials calculator that lets a contractor work out how much dirt or fill a job needs and copy the numbers straight into a call or text.

The system we built isn't a one-off. It's a template we've now run across a small network of related dirt-and-materials sites, so the same engine can stand up a new brand's location pages quickly.
